1/2/2016 1 Comment Organizing The New YearWe are on the last days of 2015 and, for me, it's time to think about what I did well, what could be better, and what I still need to accomplish. Like many people, I like to write down new and old resolutions for the new year. Exercising, starting a diet, or reading more books, are important goals. But how about getting organized in 2016? Whether it's your kitchen, schedule, or your whole life, here are some last minute tips to kick off the year: ![]() Take 15 minutes to tidy up every day - it's ok to have a little mess around sometimes. But the more you avoid tidying up, the more your mess will grow. It's like a snowball. Taking 15 minutes a day never killed anybody, and the results by the end of the week are unbelievable. ![]() Get used to to-do lists - if you are good at keeping track of everything you have to do for the day, that's great! But most people are not. So it's better to have lists to make sure you don't skip any tasks. ![]() Buy a small and light planner - so you can keep it with you in your bag. It is good if you have a crazy schedule, or just to write down your appointments. If you are a visual person, like me, a big calendar to hang on your kitchen, office, or bedroom, might also help. Same for the kids! You could have a special one for each, where the family can check birthdays, school projects, tests, activities, etc. ![]() Have a schedule for everything - add groceries, cleaning, changing bedsheets and towels, all to a schedule, so you don't forget. If you have a smart phone, you can use apps to help. Here's a list of the best free apps to simplify your life by Real Simple. Write down your resolutions, and don't forget to commit to it.
Plan to make your goals happen. Lastly, I want to thank you for your time reading the articles we post to Neat-a-Holic! And also wish you a great and organized new year! "Organizing is a journey, not a destination." Cya in 2016!
