Drawer Organizers - How To Use Them

Picture
Keeping everything organized isn't an easy task. But there are lots of items available that can help us keep our belongings in place, and many of them I would call investments rather than expenses.
Drawer organizers are on my goodies list for sure, and they are really useful when it comes about doing what they were made for.
They come in different sizes, shapes, and materials.

Plastic, Metal, Wood, Acrylic
You can take advantage of them in every single drawer you have in your house/business, and never again mix up things that shouldn't go together {like socks and underwears}! Here are some examples of where, and how, you can use these organizing must haves:

Office:

"Tidy desk, tidy mind" they say. But sometimes the price of having a neat desk, is a drawer full of junk {at least that's how your material will look if not organized}. With the drawer organizers, your stuff will have a special place to go, making it easier to find when needed. You can use any trays or bins, whether the stores call them "office organization supplies" or not. Use your creativity to design the space inside the drawer. Put the things you use the most in the top drawers, or in the ones that are the easiest for you to reach.

Kitchen

If there's a place inside the house where you can play around with organizing items, this place is the kitchen. From very simple and inexpensive, to personally designed supplies, you can choose what goes with your taste {or pocket}.
Here are some examples of silverware and utensils drawer organizers.

Have you thought about storing your dishes inside a drawer? This looks pretty smart, and doesn't need to be expensive at all. Pots and pans, as well as storage containers, are also kitchen items that go well inside drawers, and are much easier to reach when organized.
Now these are pretty good ideas. If you have a bunch of spices, you can use this Spice Tray Insert, so you can easily see the spices you need {less time, less stress, totally worth it}. The other picture shows something a little unusual, but recommended if you have some spare drawers: Storing tall packages and bottles, divided by drawer organizers, so you are able to visualize what you have.

Bathroom

An organized bathroom makes your routine more enjoyable, and your mornings easier. Here are some ideas if you have drawers in yours. You can try trays, stackable trays, bins, little baskets, and containers. Charming, or just functional, the idea is to help yourself find everything you need.

Closets & Dressers

From the dreamy closet, to the most simple dresser, drawer organizers are the help we need to keep us away from the mess. If you have that specially designed closet, or you are thinking about having one, you might include these friends to organize pretty much everything. Sunglasses, belts, makeup, bags and purses, jewelry, and clothing. All your things get a happy place, and you get a good looking and organized closet.

How good would it be to have your underwear and socks in the same drawer, but not touching each other? And how about having all your undershirts organized in a way that you can see the colors? The drawer dividers are fantastic, and you can find them for really cheap. These kind of things, in my opinion, are essential not only to stay organized, but also to save space in the drawers.

Junk Drawer

Picture
Who doesn't have that junk drawer? just because the name is "junk" doesn't mean you need to leave it a mess! Especially because this is the drawer we open to find things we want to have immediately. Trays and little bins are really helpful, and make a huge difference.

There are lots of types of drawer organizers, and you can find them {along with other organizing items} at stores like The Container Store, Crate and Barrel, IKEA, and online stores.
There's also the popular places that are more affordable, like Walmart, Target, Marshalls, TjMaxx, Home Goods, and dollar stores.
This photo below is from a project where I used Dollar Tree stacking organizing bins to organize an office supplies drawer. The client was very happy with the results, and the amount of money spent. Organizing does not need to be expensive, and you have many stores to shop.

But if you want to save even more money, or spend nothing, you can try to use what you already have at home. Double the fun with a DIY project! Here are some links for you to check out:

Ideas to Utilize Your Walls for Storage

Picture
I live in a small house. Consequently, I have a small closet, small kitchen, small bathroom... The only space that isn't small is the basement. I don't complain though, because I love my home the way it is, and I see it as a challenge to make everything organized and homey.
Thinking about this kind of issue, I realized that when you don't have much space, you can go vertical - in other words, use your walls!
Many people are already making good use of the vertical space, and here are some pictures I got from google to inspire you...

These kitchens are great examples of how to use your walls to store pretty much anything.

How about this work station? It goes good in the kitchen, at the office, or that small space you reserved for studying time. Just add a desk and a chair.
This one is a crafts station, and it looks good with the pallets. Save space + reuse what you were going to throw away. You can do something like this for the kids too.

These are ideas I got from The Container Store website. A closet, a door rack, and an office, using the Elfa Shelving System {that is on sale, btw}.

This is Urbio. I just love their creations! The magnets are really strong, and you can design how your stuff will go on the wall. More than organization, they are decoration.
Those are just a few ideas in pictures. In fact, you can use wall racks, baskets, bins, shelves, and whatever you feel like adding to your wall, so you can make some good use of your vertical space. For necessity, for decoration, or both.
